Default Head swap

I am trying to find out what the differences are between the 88-91 si head and the 92-95 dx head. Are there any, should i just get the si head, or would the dx head work good. I want to switch to multi-point and i am tired of trying to find a decent priced z6 or y8 head. So is the 88-91 head better, what are the differences?

they ought to be the same or damn similar, minus the intake manifold. Somebody else will have to confirm this.

i think 90-91 si head takes you to 115hp and z6 soch vtec takes you to 125hp may be less

a dx engine has 90hp i think

I want to know about a 92-95 dx (non vtec) head. I know it wouldnt be as good as a z6 head but if i could get one cheap then i want to know if i should get it. What kind of performance would i get and what parts do i need.

you don't need to swap the heads. i know for a fact 88-91 DX and 88-91 Si heads are the same (aside from the cam). i don't know about the 92-95 DX head, but the only real difference should be the cam. why not spend the money on a cam instead and gain a solid amount of power (as opposed to 1-2 HP off a non-VTEC head swap). plus, you won't have to remove the whole head to do the cam.

im prety sure the vavle springs are different i know for a fact that teh si cam does work better and the newer heads flow better than the older head hence they make more power and the cam grinds are different also but its not cake changing a cam either

but i would also be switching to multi-point instead of dual-point. and i believe that the multi is better for a turbo. And i plan on doing a custom turbo kit next winter. What parts do i need with this head? Do the distributors, injectors and such swap from the 92-95 or what?
