Lots of people think you actually stick it inside where the glass goes in on top. You don't do that. You have to somehow put it on the actual outside portion, so when the glass slides up, nothing touches.
It's probably pretty tough on our cars since we don't have a large surface on top of the door/window area. Good luck.

Yeah thats exactly what I was trying to do!!!!!!!!
I have to ask the guy who sold them to me...other cars it slips right in

what kind of car do you have?
also, the double sided tape should be the indication of where the rainguards go. if the tape is on the front side (the side that goes out from the car to stop the rain from going into the open window) then the rainguards go inside the window rail like you were trying to do. if the double sided tape is on the back side of the rainguards, then it sticks to the outside frame of the door.
the other thing could be that you have the wrong set of rain guards. they could be for a different car, maybe wrong packaging, or someone looked up the wrong car at the store you got them from.

Yeah the tape is on the inner part of of the guards...so from what you are saying I am guessing that you are correct and these are attached outside of the window
I have a 98 civic ex (2dr)
thanks...I knew I was just doing something stupid!!
Now I just have to buy new 3m tape for the one guard that I already pulled the backing off.....

those definately go on the outside of the car - taped to the door frame. i have a set on my crx and that is where they went. they work great and i think you will be very happy when you get them on (the right way).
