Default changing shocks on coilovers

Ok here's the deal. I bought my car with coilovers on it already, but the previous owner kept the oem shocks in, which have blown.

I bought replacement shocks/struts for my 98 EL (98 4dr USDM Civic EX) and i want to replace them myself. do i need any special tools for this job? is it pretty straight forward? i have a helms manual so, i basicly need info on the coilovers.

I DONT know the brand of coilovers on the car, sorry.
