I just finished installing a VTEC kill switch, with a vtec light. Everything works great. When left on, the vtec light works when vtec is ingaged and vtec kicks in when its supposed to. When disabled, car runs great and smooth. However, check engine light stays on until I turn off car and turn vtec back on.

I understand the reason why the check engine light comes on when it knows the vtec is not connected. But is there a way to get it to allow it. And also, would it be smart for me to disable it, i mean Im not hurting the engine am I?
