Default Primary and secondary O2 sensor differences...

I have a 1997 Civic with the OBD1 conversion (P28) and I had already cut and spliced my primary O2 sensor for my new header right before they sent the full extension harness. Can I use my secondary one since with OBD1 it is no longer used,or is there a difference?

Harness plug end of things? The plug in is the same correct? Cause now that I have OBD1 I can use the secondary one that has been out and disconnected for about a year and 4 months now, all clean and unscathed
