Default Someone tried to steal my bike...

Here's the story, yesterday I went to pick up my bike at a friends house cause I left it there over night. So I get home and park the bike behind my crx. Before I went to sleep I go outside to park the bike in front of the car, when I walk out I notice that one of my rear turn signals is almost falling off. I think nothing of it, park the bike in front of the car and go to sleep. So this morning I go outside ready to go to work when I notice that the rear turn signal is just hanging on by the wires. I get closer and find that the casing (chrome sheet metal thing) to the ignition is on the floor bent to ****. Keep in mind i've only had my bike for about 1 month, what do you guys recommend as far as security?

TIA

its been covered quite a lot, but if someone wants your bike they'll get it. best security is a good insurance plan.

That's what I was telling my supervisor. I'm going to install a kill switch today, that way I can hear the bike turning over and I have enough time to to do something about it. Thing is though the alarm on my crx is really sensitive so as soon as the bike would've started the alarm would have went off.

don't count on any locks or kill switches, sucks but it's the reality...if somebody wants your bike they'll roll it away in a truck. im writing an article on bike security and will post the link when im done

Good lookin out.

Here's a idea of what my parking area looks like. Keep in mind that the "big *** truck" and the "old *** lincoln continental" don't move. I've seen the truck move once in a week. There is no way the bike will fit between the car without setting off the alarm on my crx. There's not enough room between the fence and the cars to get it out that way either.

Park your bike next to your bed.

I wish I could bro but it's not easy taking it up a fleet of stairs, especially ones that turn at the halfway point.

Oh man that sucks. You and a buddy can just carry it like a couch and "pivot" LOL when the turn comes. Those that have seen that episode of Friends know what I'm talking about LOL

I hear people talking good things about that Scorpio alarm. I don't know anybody personally that has one though.

Like everyone has said before, insur is your best option. Sucks, but true. The next thing is to make it so that the theif has to go through a ton of **** to get your bike. My suggestion would be to do all of below since it has to sit outside.

1) Disc Lock
2) Alarm or cover with an alarm
3) Thick *** bike chain, & chain it to the axle of your front CRX.

That way the thief has to go through a bunch of **** to get to it, and if he does, **** he deserves it

Well fellas I have a 9mm, and I'm getting a chain today to chain it to my crx. The alarm on the car is so sensitive that as soon as they **** with the chain the alarm will go off. That way it acts as a alarm for both.

don't just rely on the alarm on your car.

break in, pop the hood, cut the wires to the siren, no alarm to attract attention.

You also can't count on hearing anything for various reasons.

It's a two way compustar with battery back up, so if the siren gets cut my pager will still go off.

I already got my chains and locks as well, I have yet to see them since my cousin bought them for me. He said he spent about $100.00 .
