No one understands my love for my Car
Yesterday evening, I was waxing up my '90 HF.
My Dad, "What exactly is the point of doing that?"
Me, "So you can see the dents and scratches better!"
Anyone else wash and wax thier rusted/primered/dented Car?
I have dents and scratches, all the rust has been dealt with, so there isn't really any surface rust...
Or am I just wierd?
On the up side, my interior is practically mint, so It's nice keeping that pristine...

no one except someone that has owned a CRX or has driven one can understand the love that we have for these cars. just try asking your friends (1/2 aren't into cars and the other 1/2 are into domestics) to go to something like a CRX meet in Niagra.
"Dude it's the largest CRX Meet in the world." -me
"Who cares?" - friends
I live on a long dirt driveway and even though it gets dirty the day after I wash it...i still do about once a week.

I am in love with my 91 DX and its completely stock. She gets washed and waxed once a week. My parents don't understand, neither do my friends. Most of the kids in my area are spoiled beyond belief and get respect with their (as ryan put it) "anything new"s. M3s and IS300s plauge every parking lot around here. Little do they know that b16 swap is coming
But back to the love...no one really notices the effort. And then yesterday I opened the Starbucks I work at and I was tired as ****. Some guy comes in and orders a venti coffee and goes "That your CRX?"
"yeah"
"Looks like you take real good care keeping it all shiney"
Compliments from strangers make babying a 15 year old car worth it

Yeah My 90' hatch (16-16i) has rust and a few dents and I wash it almost every 2 days cause I have white rims and I work out in the sticks where its dusty and stuff & people walk past as im cleaning it and they look at me as if to say why are you bothering... does annoy me but I love my car too mch to let it effect me.
I have a confession to make...when I traded in my 96' Civic for my 2005 Civic last week, I cried, YES I was fuking crying, the dealer prob thought I was a weirdo!! I really had some memories with her, when I crashed her for speeding and then I blew the timing belt and needed all her valves replaced LOl. All in all she was great and I got emotional.....maybe I just need to seek help??
btw. I'm thinking a Euro style this time

Thats a great confession, but this is a forum for pre 1992 civics/crxs. But, honda love is honda love.
As far as this topic. I wash my car when it gets dirty, and polish it when I notice the car doesn't make the 'water bubbles'. Water bubbles = polished, Flat water = unpolished. Strangers have asked me where I got my paint done, and I always reply "Honda did a good job 15 years ago." And yes, some of my friends always ask, why dont you get a new car? They just dont get it.

i wash my car every week and take very good care of it but it seems like some people dont appreciate other peoples work as often i have spilled sticky liquids on my car
idiots i cant stand them, whats worse than being inside your car in a parking lot and the guy next to you slams the door open and hits your car? i cant stand that i feel like killing whoever does that, and it happens often

My old 87' accord, I hand spray painted it with krylon. I also washed it every week. My Family had no respect for it, till I smoked my father's 70' impala w/350 big block. Ha! victory was mine. O, there is a question? My first car i bought for a 100 bucks. It was junky but I want know what engine it had in it, I know it was LX and 22 valve. I could only assume it was all stock.
Eh... no one really understands. I love mine, baby the ol' gal, not the fastest car on the street (by ANY means) but the ol' gal handles well and makes me happy. Go figure.
I guess I'm lucky in that respect. One of my best friends (who's my cousin's bf too) just likes the idea of anything honda. Oddly though, he just bought an IS300. My cousin had a ef sedan just like the one I'm dropping a z6 & turbo into, cept they beat it like a red-headed stepchild.
Being red like my hatch, my mom actually thinks it's 'cute' (it kinda is). My brother has an ek with a ctr swap, and my parents are into cars too. Despite being Wisconsin, my town has a load of hondas, mostly stock, but enough to rival the typical domestic population. The rest around here seem to wonder about the hondas (rather than hate), and are interested when they hear my 'econobox' can keep up with V8's. All it took was a drive in my soon-to-be first honda (88 teg ls), and I was hooked.
Either way, I *heart* my honda.
For the record though, I can't stand them without some power.

I wash my car once a week. And wax once on a month.
Exactley, what other car looks and handles better?
For example, i drive my fathers V70. When i go to corner, i can feel the mass moving from other side to other. But when i drive the same corner with my car. If even i have double the speed, the mass (what mass) doesent move anywhere. The point of mass is very low, and so its nice and sporty do drive.
Ef love... You gotta say.

im in a fight with my gf right now cause i just picked up another 88 si shell and ive been "spending too much time with that damn car". well i hate having my crx out of commision so im trying to swap all the interior, re-wire everything in it and drop in my motor within the week, kind of a running bet with the junkyard i picked up the shell from, they dont think i can put the interior in and the motor that quickly.
