Default Went to the track.........not happy...

Well we finally got the car to the track and had some serious wheel spin issues in the top end. My 60's were great and getting it out of the hole was not a problem. It was when it hit full boost it was pulling side to side and just spinning and there was nothing that i could do about it.
Here's my best time:

60' 1.720
330 5.02
1/8 7.65 @ 91.6mph
1000 9.97
1/4 11.92 @ 106.7mph WTF!!!

The setup is:

604whp
26" x 8.5 x 15 MT ET Drags
Solid motor mounts
Shitty 2 year old tokico struts and tenzo coil overs
Open Diff
Car maybe weighs 2500 w/driver (estimate)
Also on stock axles still

The turbo is rather laggy but that helps out of the hole. The problem starts once it hits full boost. Then i tried everything in my power to get them to stop spinning but it was just pulling from side to side and spinning so hard the car just wouldn't move. I tried just staying in it for a pass and that was worse. lol I'm getting LSD before i even attempt to go back to the track. That's what i think the majority of the problem is.

Here's the only picture i got at the track because all 8 batteries for the camera were dead . I also have some video of the car at the track, i'll try to get it up this week.

Wow 604HP on stock axles im surprised you didnt snap them. But other than that thats still a quick time for an accord. Sliding back and forth sounds like powers not distributing equally to both front wheels. Id say get an LSD as you said.

I made probably 8-10 passes at the track and i was cutting consistent 1.8 60' times and a couple 1.7 60's. Axles are still strong. I brought a back up set of oem's just in case

haha damn man thats crazy. I didnt know the stock axles could take that much abuse. But bad *** ride man. Good luck with controlling that wheelspin.

The LSD would help with the wheelspin issue. Crazy numbers on your accord. Keep us updated with the purchase and installation of the LSD.

Those are some pretty good 60ft times but it sounds like you need an LSD for sure and you may want to get some traction bars if you don't have any.

Damn 1.8 and 1.7 60 fts with no LSD is pretty good. Big slicks thrive off of LSD and the ability to get them warm, especially with a heavier chassis. Atleast you know how to improve, and those improvements are going to make a big difference. If this is the first time at the track with that set-up, you should be happy. You have the power, now you just have to make that sucka go down the strip some-what straight . Good Luck.

thats a hella low trap speed for an 11 sec pass...so its ovbious your biggest problem is keeping everything hooked up once the snail hits full boost....new struts and better springs might help keep the car under control as well

what gear do the tires finally hook up without any wheel spin at all? also, just for ***** and giggles, you might try launching in 2nd just to see what happens...if it doesn't let the wheels spin until 25-30 mph, you might pick up some time there...but the lsd should help immensely with your traction problems...

Yeah, with 600+whp the quarter times suck, but at least you know its not the driver. Your 60fts are awesome
Get a quaife and you'll throw down 10's

too much $$$ and i don't know i never kept track

on street tires at full power(604whp) it breaks the tires loose in 5th gear on the street. Doesn't matter how fast im' going.

(jk)
limited slip differential..distributes traction to both wheels instead of one.

Yes LSD distributes power evenly to each wheel making for very good traction.

Glad you made it to the track. I'd be super happy to have your time slip!
You can weigh your vehicle by going to a truck scale and if no one's there drive on it. Or you can get it cleared with the people working the truck scales.

I have a 95 Accord H22A at about 180WHP, NA no real power mods and the best on street tires open diff was 14.871 @ 94.45 Once I got my Quaife LSD installed I didn't get faster at the drag stip but wheels pulled both at the same time so I was heppy. And it really helped in Auto-x racing. Here's my numbers below to compare to yours:

60' 1.720 Bruce = 2.381
330 5.02, Bruce = 6.391
1/8 7.65 @ 91.6mph, Bruce = 9.674 @ 75.58
1000 9.97, Bruce = 12.58
1/4 11.92 @ 106.7mph, Bruce = 14.871 @ 94.45

Well best wishes getting your LSD and getting back out to the track. You should think about auto-x with your Accord It would be fun for you I think and nice to see an Accord beat a few WRX's in the SM (Street Modified) class.

install an LSD which will help with the torque steer from side to side... altho with hooking up traction wise.. just wondering what your tire pressure is with the MT's running that much power they should be extra low.. 7-8psi.. maybe even 5-6 psi if there still is a problem.. if that doesnt help.. you'll either need bigger slicks or a 2-step and turn it off for 3rd gear.. since im guessing 1st and 2nd are useless gears after full spool... just some suggestions that worked for us

i was running the 26" MT's at 7 psi. Having absolutely no problems getting the car out of the hole.

1st and 2nd gear are not problem because i don't get to full boost until the top of 2nd.

Quaife LSD is ordered and on it's way
