Default tranny trouble, and how to change the fluid

ok, so my tranny is gone. i goto shift into second, and it isnt there, this happend after i let a friend drive it. ive been told its the syncro going out, sometimes i shift and it will go into it, and sometimes when i first crank the car, it will go in with no problem, if i change the fluid do you think it will help it out some? and how do i go about changing the tranny fluid

To change the fluid it's easier to either work from a pit, or put the car on a hoist.
Unbolt the fill bolt first, then the drain plug (do it that way, because if the fill bolt is stuck you haven't drained it yet.)
Using an automotive syringe, fill the gear box with the correct fluid until it starts to overflow, then you're done.

If you have more than 30ish thousand miles then yea you will probably notice a difference or if you drive your car hard often...

go for it!

if possibly try to drain the fluid into a clear container or if not then poor it out slowly into another container to see if there are parts of metal in it. if there are then its probably ur dogteeth or teeth from ur blocker ring if thier brass. if there isnt any metal parts then i'd have to guess its an internal problem with your shift rails.

If you cannot get the fill bolt loose, you can fill it through the speed sensor hole, h22 transmissions take about 2 & 1/2 qts , but if your second gear dosent work at all, then changing the fluid isnt going to do much.. good luck with it...
