Default OEM CTR rear lip owners..(Pics)

Hi,

I just purchased a 2nd hand OEM CTR rear lip and tried to fit it onto my OEM EK4 rear bumper and it was a little long. I bolted it up on both sides, but the middle just sagged. I noticed that the OEM rear lip had some special sort of folds inside it with screw holes.. b ut my rear bumper didnt accomodate that since it was an EK4 bumper.

I dont want to modify it too much to fit, i'd rather keep it one piece.
Has anyone on HT bought an OEM CTR rear lip for their EK hatch and had fitment issues? how did you get around this?

Some suggestions please..

Thanks.

Hi,

Nah it didn't come with mounting hardware.
It's definitely genuine as it is made from the exact material from my rear bumper. It even has some inside folds which don't appear on replica lips. It says Honda and all these numbers on the inside of it too.

Im pretty sure its genuine.. but it doesn't fit properly.. weird huh.

Im in New Zealand so I cant sell it. It cost me 88USD!

it looks real. on my real jdm ctr bumper, it has fatcory holes already drilled so the lip just mounts up to that.

i dunno if the SIR bumpers are different or not. might be a little shorter but i don't see why it'll be like that.

i know that the JDM front and rear bumpers on the toyota altezzas are shorter than the US version though.

thats OEM.. you need a CTR rear bumper to accomodate those mounts in the middle.

just drill your rear bumper. what's so bad about that? you are not gonna take that genuine pimp rear lip anyway rite? and beside if you are not gonna use that lip.. let me know!!!!!!!!!! ill give you +10 of what you paid for

anyway just drill the holes.. if you don't like it and tkae the lip out, just buy another bumper~ lol i think you can easily find a stock bumper at HT

well i have a 97' civic hatch and when it tried to put a used OEM CTR lip on my car I did have some fitment issues. I drilled the holes and bolted it from inside but the two corners appeared to be about 1/2" long. It did not fit my US bumper perfect. I don't know if it was because or wear and tear on the LIP that made it a bit saggy. So i just put on the CTR bumper that came with the lip and it worked out perfect.

Yeah I think I will have to use the inside mounts to get it not to sag. My car is from Japan too.. maybe the SIR bumpers are different.

nope... it works with all usdm/jdm/sir bumpers, just that you will have to drill holes to fit the brackets which can be tricky, Just did this the other day too.

Can you possibly take photos of your rear bumper with it all hooked up?

Are your brackets sort of hanging of your rear lip or are they stuck to the bumper?

I wont being do it myself, i'll hand it over to a bodykit shop.

I had some fitment issues with my ctr lip as well.

I have tiny gaps on each corner but i said **** it because they are really hard to see unless you get on your knee and look for it.

So did you have any problems with the sagging in the middle?

No sag issues in the middle because I secured it using the brackets on the lip.

You might have drilled the holes too low on the middle of your bumper so it appears the lip is sagging.

I'll take photos soon, I'll have to get my digital camera back. It bolts perfectly on the sides, but it sags in the middle. I tried to fit again and if I taped it up on my bumper on the bit before it curves down it fit well..

Note: I havent drilled anything, just bolted it up on the sides.

Nah my rear bumper is OEM as well, car was imported from Japan all legit.
