Default My EF summer project.

So school ended and I needed something to keep me busy during the summer. So I bought me a 91 crx si. I always wanted to actually swap a motor in myself so i dont have to pay like 5bills+ for someone to swap a motor in myself. So this is the car i'm going to be playing with.

I bought the car with:
-obd1 jumper harness
-engine wiring harness
-enjo b series motor mounts
-DA front brake setup
-tein s-tech springs
-tokico shocks up front
-rear lexan and back sides are lexan.
-2.5" crush bent piping
-n1 style exhaust
-Almost new battery
-Some sort of red lug nuts

Plans:
-b17 motor, ys1 gsr tranny
-Put side moldings on
-Replace passenger side tailights
-Replace passenger side headlight
-Put front corner lights on
-Put a wings west mugen bumper on, zip tied on, no bumper support stupid but im cheap
-Probably change rear bumper
-Primer the damn thing

Downside:
-salvage title
-hood doesn't line up
-rear was crushed but fixed, inside the cabin you can tell
-paint
-foggy lexan
-passenger side has shaved moldings (bondo was used so i'll be hitting the bondo out)
-Driver side door misaligned(fixed)
-Paint on glass

As you can see it's going to be a real fun project. Just going to need time, money, and the help of honda-tech. I'll keep you guys posted. Oh yea, anyone know what's the downside of not having the sticker on the driver side chassis, where the door closes?

Me w/ the car

The interior that's left is pretty clean

So basicly thats like a free shell with some extra goodies.

Not bad, who cares if it has a salvage title. Nobody else will ever know but you unless you decide to sell it or frame your title and show it off.

Good luck on your project.

Go get the frame checked out at a body shop, they'll be able to tell you if it's out of spec or not. I had to have the frame pulled on my CRX because it had been in an accident or something before I bought it, clean title though. They charged me $160 to pull the frame. Here is a before picture, don't have an after.

The little dog ear part where the LCA bolts to the frame was pushed up into the car, creating toe out and positive camber...and a lot of it. Due to the condition of the car though (no rust) it was fixable.

160 bucks for a frame pull like that is a good deal.

But yea code 15 probably is ignitor and the brakes might be master cylinder. Also another thing is somethign knocking, sounds like somethigns loose in the suspension so i'll be checking that out tomarrow also.
