Default distributor cap?

there are 50 threads on this but i haven't seen anyone come out and say that they have done it so i'm curious.....

I have a jdm h22a and i'm going to run an msd external coil. Will a stock usdm h22a capwork from either 92-96 or 97-01? Or do i need to get an msd 92-95 civic cap

Stock one will not work The usdm one is an exterbal coil while the one you have right now is an internal. The distributor cap you are looking for is MSD #8292.

Meaning i need a cap that allows for an external coil hook up. I've heard the f series lines up but has timing issues... will a stock 92-96 usdm cap or 97-01 usdm cap work?

What the hell are you talking about? Stock JDM distributor cap will work with external coil. I said this one over and over again, all you need is to get the spark plug end like screw from MSD and bolt on the cap, redo some wiring. There is no need to get new or other cap. I 've done this before on my friend JDM H22. Look at the black distributor cap all the way to the left http://www.msdignition.com/sci_8.htm Notice the red plastic thing with gold connector end. That is all you need to get to modify your distributor cap. It will work, trust me. Don't listen to these idiots.

Again, look at MSDs website at part number 8292. It is for a 90-93 Honda accord 2.2l engine among other engines. It is the cap that will fit your distibutor and has a external hookup.

will the stock usdm lude cap work? MSD stuff is the last resort when i could go to advanced auto and pick up a stock cap and be done today. Plus msd i over priced, and if i just do the cap conversion(screw piece) then i have to do that everytime i get a new cap.
