y7's dont pull much, the y8's are what hit the 120 area.

All motor D series is like trying to make a diamond ring out of a piece of ****, it just aint gonna happen. If you want to make any kind of noticable power out of a D series you need some type of forced induction. Be it turbo or supercharger. Unless you want to go all motor and still be single cam, then an F series is the way to go. But after you finally get it in there and running, you could have put in an h22 and made a lot more power.

But hey, if you wanna spend a bunch of money to make only 150-175whp, then by all means, do it. I'll stick to my fully built turbo set-up.

really an all motor setup isn't really worth it for a SOHC not much NA potential

go turbo, they are cheap, fun, and fast

Go for I/H/E, crower stg3/zex stg 2, uprated spring/retainer/valves, port/polish, mill head/y8 head gasket, p29 zc pistons, skunk2 IM port matched to a b18 TB, uprated rod/bolts, Octane booster, LSD, y8 tranny with optional final gear, light flywheel, race cluch...

And still you will not come close to a I/H/E b16... But hey, go for it!

Dude dont listen to these people that are dogg'in you. I understand where u are coming from. Although i do have a turboed z6 i honestly would rather have an all motor z6 with some ITB's and a decent cam. Reason being is i'm all about handling, and having a turbo motor just doesnt give me the response or throttle manipulation that i would like, if you understand the way throttle response plays a roll during limit cornering you'll know what i mean. Dont get me wrong, if your looking to make huge power maybe NA SOHC isnt for you, but if your like me i would prefer to have an NA.

by the way my FULL greddy kit is for sale pm me for details...

i went turbo.. fun. Anyways.. i'm building an all motor y7, the crank has been shaved, balanced, polished, de-burred, running pm6 pistons, omni valves, delta 744 cam, itb's, and my own head work, it isn't togther yet, but i hope to be in the 160 area. 13.1:1 comp

Alot of people forgot about transmission work. Y8 transmission, LSD, FD, light flywheel... etc can all make a great improvement.

Perhaps d-series.org will provide more answers for what you are looking for.

This is very true. Not many people realize how the tranny affects the overall acceleration of your car. Combine a z6/y8 tranny with a 4.7 or 4.9 final drive and you are greatly increase your rate of acceleration. Also, if you are serious about wanting the most out of your all motorSOHC, you might want to look into a hybrid ZC/z6 tranny with a 4.9 FD. honestly its not that much work to get everything installed you just have to know what you are doing ( there are numerous manuals to guide you through the steps too).
