Im buying my first bike saturday. :)
95' YZF600 w/ 19k miles, picking it up for $2600 in RI. I know I know, overpriced, but it must be New England, because bikes just arent all that cheap around here, at least not that I've seen. Signed up for the MSF in the middle of July, and going to drive out to Moto Market in Acton to check out some gear.
It even comes with the stands and all kinds of other miscellaneous stuff, since the guy is getting out of riding altogether, I get his leftovers.

And it's a damn fine example at that!

The price isn't that bad, if the bike's overall condition matches its looks. Plus all the tools and extras...you did ok, especially at this time of the year.
<-- wants an FZR for a second bike

I get all mixed up with the xyz's........Yeah, its an FZR then.
Only issues with it were dead turn signal bulb and a slightly bent shift lever, hes buying a new bulb for it, as well as 2 extras to throw in. Other than that, both engine covers are scratched but the bike is mint other than that. I looked at a few other bikes and its like you look at it......and the fairings dont fit "quite right", theres bent/scratched/loose parts, all stuff that I would at my own expense repair, but this bike should be fairly set to go. All Im going to do is replace the shift lever and call it good.

The fact that it's been repainted and you say a few things don't fit quite perfect tells me that it's probably been wiped out at some point. No biggie, just letting you know incase you didn't already. The FZR is a great machine man. You'll be happy with it.I had a 91 that was modded to the *****.I am actually in the middle of a deal; Trading my 90 4-do Civic with ZC and Mugen ECU for a buddy's 91 FZR 400!! The 400's are kinda rare and make a great track-*****.I'm gonna try to sell it first, but if I don't within a couple of weeks,I'm going to either stunt it or track it.
my first sport bike was an 90' FZR 600. I bought it for $100 and i loved it, i couldn't believe how fast it was when i got i, and only had a few problems with it, all mainly because of its age. There are a few good sites for it also. have fun with it, ride safe
and also, i posted this in a thread where a guy just got his first bike, so i'll paste it here..

i just got out of the hospital a few days ago, take it from me.... be careful, take it slow, get comfortable with things, and have fun.
just ride safe bro.
remember, most the times its not ourselves we need to worry about, its EVERYONE ELSE on the road. In my case, a lady drivng the oposite direction that i was, took a left in front of me and i hit her literally head first, and i had to wake up in the hospital a few days later.
not to scare you, but just watch your back.

Yeah, I know the bike has been down. Once on the right side by the first owner, and once on the left side by the second owner. Second owner did all the body work on it and had it repainted. Bike runs great, sounds great.
Its in my possession now, its loaded in my work van, but I dont have anyone to help me unload it till monday. I'm pretty intimidated by the thought of riding, when I first started it up on my own and rev'ved it a few times I couldnt believe how fast those revs climbed with just a small flick of the wrist. I definitely have alot of respect for what these bikes can do. Its going to be in storage for the next month until I can take the MSF course, going to pick up my permit on monday and register it. I'll feel kind of guilty knowing its in a storage unit just up the road (no room at house for it), but I'll feel alot more comfortable about getting on the road after taking the MSF. Plus not riding yet will give me plenty of time to save up the cash to buy all the right gear.
Emphasizing respect.
We stopped to get something to eat on the way back after picking it up, I remember looking out at it on the back of the truck in the parking lot and kind of getting those butterflies in your stomach feeling just thinking about getting it moving, no less riding it on the street.
