i just installed my bc3+ cams today, and i noticed that the keyway for the woodruff key is a bit large, as in i can move it around. as a result theres some play in my adjustable cam gear , probably 2 degrees. anybody have the same experience? i also noticed that the exhaust cam has huge lobes, bigger than the intake. what's the rationale behind this?
the BC3+ cams are not conventional with regard to the design. The intake and exhaust look like two totally different cams, with 1 wild one and 1 mild one. The combo works great in my B17 though.
As for the keyway, mine was nice and tight. Had to tap it in with rubber mallet

I had the same problem with my skunk2 stage 2 cams. It ended up chewing up the woodruff key and knocking the cam timing off enough to bend my valves. Hopefully this is not common with the BCIII+ cams. I plan on buying a set soon.

well the cam gear doesn't move anymore when i have the camshaft bolt torqued town nice and tight. it's just that with such a large amount of play, you can't really be sure if your cam gear markings are accurate anymore
