NSX engine in a 99 Accord
well correct me if im wrong my man, but doesnt the C30 nsx engine sit longitudinaly directly over the rear wheels, just like the front engine front drive accord engine sits longitudinaly right over the front wheels? if this is the case, then why the hell wouldnt it possible to do the swap, with the obvious being very deep pockets and lotss and lotts of time for sum serious custom work. I really dont see why it isnt possible so long as i am correct on the side to side position of the engine and not front to back..... but like i said, please correct me if i'm wrong, and the other issue would be the tranny, so it might and might not be possible simply cause of small details....

The only main reason NSX's are fast as hell because they dont weigh jack ****. If you put that motor into a heavy set accord, would it really be fast? Probably not. Think about the 91-95 Legend. Similar motor, but that car was not fast. (well it was but compared to a supercar) the point im making is putting an NSX motor into an accord would not be worth the money for the lack of gains it would produce. Boosting an H22 right would wax and NSX, and cost thousands and thousands less. .02

im sorry, but that SOHC inline 5 is a far cry from the origional J30......NSX isnt just the first all aluminum mas produced chassis car (that ive ever heard off), its MID ENGINE, which is the ideal setup for racing

It was done on a CRX but they put the engine in the back. At least you wouldn't need a heater :\
The vigor was the inline 5 you're thinking about.

the only 5 cylinder hondas i'm aware of are the old school vigor, and the late 90's 2.5 TL...other than that, the rest are 4 and 6...
as for this swap, i'd just say **** with the original v6 and mate it to the tl type s 6 speed tranny...that'll help out a great deal with putting power to the ground...

I got a turbo kit for that car if it's a 4cyl that i'd be willing to sell you, but back to the topic. The NSX engine is far more advanced than any other C or J series engine honda has ever produced. It's titanium components are what sets it apart. The trouble with all this is that It really doesn't have any more potential than a 3.2tl type s engine would. For ridiculous amounts of money you can build an omni into a 600hp beast (I have seen one, even had the omni motor, but built like hell and running a T04r to it's max. It only lasted three days) The comment about the unlimited funds/unlimited potential concept is all well and good, but then you have to wonder, people with an NSX usually have a hell of a lot of money and the car is most certainly not a daily driver. Now why don't we see a lot more NSXs that have been modified? It is because the aftermarket doesn't see a whole lot of NSX owners out there, therefore they don't produce parts to up the power output. There are the standard superchargers and that, but for real power, it will cost you more money per pound of torque to increase the performance of an NSX motor that it would damn near any other honda motor on the planet.
If you want to you can email a friend of mine who lives in california and he will swap in a CL-S motor and tranny, but I can't tell you how much it will cost.
