ATF in engine oil
i've heard some old skool mechanics reccomend adding a little atf to your engine oil just before an oil change every once in a blue moon, to clean things out. good idea or bad idea? my accord runs just fine, real smooth and happy, should i let well engouh alone, or is it possible it would run even happier if i did this trick? atf in engine oil, not sure what to think about it.
No, no, no. If you want to clean your oil system use a specifically designed oil detergent additive. I'd use BG Quick Clean, but it's hard to find.

It's done all the time, I myself have considered doing it but never really cared because my engine is already clean as a whistle. ATF is a cleaning detergent and is used to clean and lubricate your automatic and some manual tranny's constantly, it is not bad to put it in and run your engine for 10-20 minutes before changing your oil.
