I took my tar out with a heat gun, worked pretty good with a putty knife to scrape it, came out clean. Then just hit it off with some mineral spirits and a scuff pad and your good. Your project is lookin good, wish i had a trailer like that.

edit* looks siiiic with the twistys

cool. i'll try dry ice when i get off work tomorrow. motor is comin out tuesday. then its off to the machine shop to rehone the cylinders. umm probably new pistons, rods, clean the head. clean up the engine bay. rewire everything the right way.

ALSO!!
i have a big hole in the roof cuz i took out this shitty aftermarket sunroof. it was a pos. is there a way i can weld a new piece of metal in there or should i find a stock sunroof at some junkyard or something

damn id love a stock sunroof, but its gonna be hard to find one. if nothing else ill weld it up. i just dont want it to warp across the roof. im gonna have to go slow welding and on low and then pour cold water over it as im going ya know. 2 person job.

another questions. will the dry ice get rid of the clunky **** thats like where the spare tire is supposed to be. i dunno why theres big ****** holes everywhere in the interior...filled with like plastic caps, then clunky sticky **** all over it. what is the purpose of that crap and will dry ice get that stuff out?

About the sound deadining matrerial, i used dry ice. I got the idea from a write up that someone on here did.

All i did was buy the dry ice, break it up into small pieces and spread it around all the material i wanted to break up. Wait about 10 minutes or so until the material starts to turn white. When you see it turning white that means its good to break off. I used a chizel and flat head screw drivers and they just came up in big chunks. Very easy.

Edit: This thread has picks of how i did my dry ice. Also, i did mine at night so the ice wouldnt melt too fast. I live in AZ so that was a concern

Edit again: This is the original thread i was talking about. Helped me out a bunch!

great links thanks!

i'm most concerned about the calulking around the seems. can i remove all that **** or does it need that stuff for support. cuz those links dont explain that part. i'd like to have it look as clean and as smooth as possible. so if i have to have it there id still like to remove those big chunks of that stuff. let me know thanks
