Well this damage is done by a 69 Plymouth Fury. A bodyshop quoted about 3300 bucks. Reason is because have to replace side quarter panels. According to him they usualy just total them.

dont use geocities as a freakin host for pictures. you're only allowed so much bandwith, and geocities is crap. go to we-todd-racing.com and host through there.

Thats what I thought before I got this quote. I just agreed with him since he has been in business for about 20 years, and im just a noob on bodywork. He barely looked but whatever. The insurance company would give me the kelly blue book retail value, which is about 4400 so I would not complain, since it has its issues such as burns oil and no power with the good ol stock D15.

On point, he's been in the business for 20 years and you are a noob. He's gonna try to take all the money he can get. I say total it if you can and get a new car if you don't like what you already have.

Yeah, I have no idea what this guy could be thinking. Its obvious there is nothing wrong I had to see what you guys thought, since you all have more expericence that anyone.
I would total it and get the insurance money, and try to buy it back so you have something to drive while your looking for a new car, you may even want to keep it for a winter beater

So if the adjuster agrees and they total it, that goes on the DMV record, and they take it or is it up to you to dispose of it?

Did the insurance company give you that price ($4400) or did you come up with it by yourself?
If it's the insurance company, than take it 'cause you'll never sell it for that much, even if you fix it.
I just checked the blue book value on my '97 LX sedan (with all factory options, 105K miles, bone-stock, and an overall very nice condition) and it said it's only worth $4995.

No, the esitimate was from a private bodyshop and the estimate was around 3300 to fix it. He said the insurance companies usually go through KBB and use the Retail Value which is 4400 for mine. Im definatly taking the 4400 if its offered. I have the appointment with the insurance adjuster monday so I will see what he says.
That doesn't look totaled to me...I was rear ended in my Accord and the trunk looked like a freakin roof and it was only $2600 in damages and it was WAYYYYYYY worse than yours. If I were you I would start looking into a different body shop for some estimates because I think that would be max $1500 in damage. Good luck with it!!!
tell them you wanted it fixed with oem parts then they will total it and you can buy it back from the insurance for like 400 or less have someone fix it and you still have money left over. my 94 ex with was said to be totalled I got 3500 for it bought it back with my B16a swap for 400 and fixed with a front bumper and quarter panel
