Whats better Turbo or Supercharger?
Ok I have asked a bunch of people and read up on the both of FI types. I was just wondering the major pros and cons for Turbos vs. Superchargers?
I was wondering about you know the usual, reliability, cost, power overall likes and dislikes of both systems.
This is for my future mod category (6 months hehe) I was just hoping that some one could put some light on to the subject for me. Thanks a buch

You will not get an answer. . . this question has been beaten to death. Use the search function in the top right hand corner of your screen. You should find at least 1000000000000000000000000000000000000 posts on this topic. I'm not trying to be an *******. . .just honest.

so after being on this board for a few months now i understand why every one jumped down my **** when i first poseted this same question................oops oh well search is cool it usually answers over half of my questions
SC all the way.......I´m just another one of 100 or more peeps gone from turbo to Supercharger
I feel like answering this so I am gonna.
Supercharger-For most applications, suprchargers are GROSSLY inefficient, since they(roots type, like Jackson's) run by creating parasitic drag via the pulley system. However, the roots type gives MUCH more direct power their is no on/off feel to a roots type blower. Peak power is not really the objective with this set-up.
The Centrifugal blowers, like Vortech, have a bit better efficiency than the roots type, but they lack the direct pedal feel of the roots type blower, giving it more of an on/off feel than the roots type blower.Peak power is a little more in focus in this set-up,but sacrifices the direct feel.
The turbos are by far the most efficient form of FI,since they run of exhaust gases, which your car already produces,it has no parasitic drag on the power plant. This is also the BEST application to use for absolute power gains. Although, since the turbos are dependant on exhaust gases, their is the on/off feeling associated with turbos in the form of lag.
It really depends on what you want the car to do? If you want to AutoX, I'd say get the roots type Jackson Racing blower. If you want to Drag Race, then go with either the Centrifugal Blower from Vortech or the thousands of Honda turbo kits.
Turbocharging has been getting cheaper for awhile because of it's growing popularity in the Import scene. It's my favorite by far.
