Nah, stripers don't bite in the Hudson until later. Fishing out of the Hudson is ok, the further away you get from NY, and the old GM plant, and Indian Point nuclear power plant, you're fine

 

Look at that wimpy little fish . I catch bigger fish than that in my back yard.

I didn't catch anything... I only had a teeny tiny nibble. Rob is still out there fishing-- lets hope he has some better luck. The spots we went to people normally pull up tons of bluefish and bass, but today no one was catching anything.

 

would have been fun to go but i cant even catch crabs from a $2 hooker
