please double check my coolant bypass/"blockplate" for my fitv -pics-
my "cardboard" gasket between the fitv and tb. looks ok?
the hosing outlined in red... does that seem like its ok for the new "coolant" route.
thanks guys.....
Interesting, I've never seen it done that way before. Is that cardboard? If so it's going to disintegrate over time.
Maybe that's the common way and the way I did it is odd, but I did it by unscrewing the part that the the hose hooks up to (lower corner) then screwing a metal plate in it's place, thus blocking it off there.

For a cheap gasket, a cereal box works about the best. Just cut to size and coat both sealing surfaces with gasket sealant --> doesn't have layers so it won't disenigrate near as fast, if at all. Used this for a head gasket on my little brother's 50cc motorcycle 5 years ago...still going strong!

You can also do it the way shown on the following link, without actually using a blocking plate.

That's how I've done it, and it also shows the coolant bypass too.

ohhh wow thanks guys. and about the layered cardboard i used, didnt think about it being more prone to desintegrating then a cereal box cardboard hehe... have to reconcider to opening my precious cheerios box =/
but as far as what i am showing in the pictures and the coolant bypass... thumbs up? looks ok?
i cant take off the bronze plate on the bottom of my fitv, nearly stripped the screw, so i just opted to block it with cardboard, as my original intent was just to tighten the wax screw instead.

Ok but you forgot to do a hose, cause it goes from the coolant housing to the throttlebody, then goes to the iacv valve then back to the coolant housing. you need to make your hose do this:
Then you have noo coolant running to your intake manifold.

so i got a thumbs up and someone telling me to move my hose around... can anyone verify?
the one i have highlighted had hella coolant coming out from it, and it leads to somewhere that i cant visibly see.... drops down behind the IM... if i was to loop the hose around there, coolant will leak it from it... basically, there are no hoses hooked up to my fitv right now if that's what it appears to look like.

ok so i have looped the hose in red according to the yellow line that qveon explained. There is still lots and lots of coolant coming from the hose that hooks up to the iacv.... is this ok?

so i have it looped like that. But evertime i keep adding in more coolant into the radiator, it comes out from that tube im pointing too.... is this not right? so right now the hose that went to the iacv from the coolant houseing is disconnected and there are no hoses connected to the fitv...
no he didnt mean to t-it. you have it right now. i looped the lines on the tb and the valve on the front of the itm to keep dirt out of it, but its not needed. i think there is just coolent left in the line, or u have a leak. you should be able to take all the hoses out of the engine bay u disconnected, except the looped one.
phew... thanks man. Whats up with my coolant issue though? When i pour in coolant into my radiator, it comes out from the hose im pointing too...
???...
So it is normal for the coolant to come out as i add more to the radiator?... cuz it doesnt seem like i can fill the radiator up to the neck when it keeps coming out from that hose... where does it hook up to anyway? the hose i am pointing too goes back under the IM and can't see where it goes

Pull out the hose that when from the coolant housing to the throttle body, then take out the hose that went from the throttle body to the IAC, then take the hose out from the IAC to the coolant housing, Now what hose do you have unhooked that is still spilling coolant?

so the hose I've been talking about which has coolant coming out is highlighted in the red... and just to prevent confusion, the green highlighted hose is the one that goes from the iacv to the coolant housing, which has been, as you can see, looped with my big blue hose
