Default setup question. hifoncis, autotek.

i'll be getting the bx1605 brutus, and have an old autotek ss 200.2 that's been sitting in my closet for quite some years. the ol' autotek will run kicker ds-60's and 05ks693's. the brutus will run a kicker comp cvr 12 (for now). my question is will i need a distribution block and a capacitor for those amps now? i don't think my amps are monstrous, but will i need a capacitor as well? if yes, what model or brand would you suggest? this is going in a 96 civic 4dr, btw. flaming cuz you don' t like what i have will not be greatly appreciated. answering my questions will be though.

i've heard that either the alt should be replaced or get a capacitor. thanks, i'll start looking around. alternators can be a bit more pricey right? oh well.

Why caps are a disadvantagous.

1. They cannot store enough energy to keep up with the demands of the bass notes in today's music. Eg. rap. techno etc.

2. Once the small amount of energy in them has been depleted they only become a greater load on the electrical system, this also happens when the amplifier is drawing large amounts of current, making the matter even worse.

3. They are not by any means cost effective, they are expensive.

Go check out http://www.termpro.com they have a lot of useful info on audio.
The only cap that is worth the money is a Batcap.

that may be true, but amps are generally rated at 13.8v and if you are bumping, i doubt with a stock alternator even when driving can maintain that. if your voltage drops below 13.8v, your amp isnt getting enough power and your underpowering your sub/s.
