I was looking through a Super Street today and saw some crazy riced up stuff. The usual, Altezzas, ****, and then I saw the newest trend of rice "BLING BLING CHROME EXHAUST TIPS THAT HAVE NEONS AROUND THE INSIDE WALLS!" What the hell will they think of next.

i may get flamed for this, but i've been thinkin projector headlights might be the next big wave of rice, not saying they look bad, but i've heard the light output sucks. thus making them impractical and one step closer to 'rice.' Plus they've become "hot" or 'tight'

 

uhh... my projector headlights put out a shitload of light.

Integra's have excellent projector headlights.

 

i'm not talkin about Integras, i'm talking about like Accords and Civics

 

the 96-? civic coupe projector lights are ugly....i think they may be "rice".

 

yeah just go look at the Accord ones on Modacar.....plus they were featured in F&F on that hoodless accord right? Hmm maybe the "Show 'Em" hoods are the next rice. I mean come on, i've looked at the the fit, from what i've seen on that green convertable accord wagon it sux!

When I see a car with a LED lit exhaust tip drive in front of me, I'm gonna slam into him just so I don't have to see that stupid exhaust anymore.

i agree, but im so tired of people that buy that kind of **** for thei cars, giving people like us a bad name...im almost at the point where im embarassed to say i drive a honda because of the redicule i get from other people...its not like id actually kick someone elses car...but id like to...

Im tired of having to explain to people that "no i dont have a big wing or a bunch of stickers on my car with a big tip on it" whenever they ask me what kinda car i drive. Ricers suck but at least they make me laugh.

Hell yeah man, they add 10 horses a peice! Didn't you know that? The wind that glides over the 'flames' becomes heated therefore causing the extra heat to make the air around them heat up which causes the engine to expell the exhaust quicker
which makes room for the pistons to move faster and give it higher RPM's and increase the redline of the car which in turn causes more HP.

In conclusion, just buy a turbo!

Is "rice" really that bad? It's a confidence booster for the young street racers of the day. Think, all the little kiddies get their shlts and giggles from slapping an "SiR" sticker on their Civic and telling everyone that it's a JDM, but mention "Spoon" and they think of an eating untensil. It's all just bragging rights when your in High School. Everyone gets intake, exhaust, strobes, altezzas, body kits and every other look trend that's out. Whoever has the latest and greatest add on is the king for the week until someone else gets something better. All I have so far is an intake, and strobes lights but those are only for people who drive to slow in front of me, flip those on and they think I'm a cop or something and get out of my way. That's the only reason I got them. As for racing, most people aren't ignorant enough to think that their Civic/Integra could ever go up against a Type-R or Mustang or anything of that nature and actually contend. I know most on H-T look down on street racing but I only do it when I'm bored or just trying to find something to do and I'm definatly not stupid enough to go 80+mph around a turn just to try and beat a car I have no chance of beating. I only race on long straight roads will little traffic. And on occasion I race a much faster car (ie. Mustang GT, 3000GT, 300ZX, etc.) and lose bad, but it's all in fun. I just get a thrill out of hearing my car rev up and being able to be at the controls of such a thing. I think eventually it will wear off but until then I'm just having fun. Until the time when I can actually afford to go to the track and tear up my car on the road course I will have to stick to long straigh open roads and getting my @$$ kicked by American V8's and Japanese V6's. Well, I'm sure some one has fallen asleep reading this so it's time to wake up. I was just trying to talk. No flame wars intended what-so-ever.

Final thought: Give the ricers a break, although ignorant, they have nice cars (in there own way).

Dude, that is the dumbest and gheyest reason to own strobe lights. Those things are for show only.. Why the hell would you wanna impersonate a cop? Just cause someone's driving slow in front of you? You're probably one of those riceboys who need to drive fast all the time, weaving in and out of traffic... Don't lie about how you only race when the road is straight and empty, that is pure BS

Now why do so many people hate on RICE? Simple. There is an image that we in the import market wanna portray. We have been 2nd to V8 domestics forever, and when you have a car that has alteezas, and all kinds of lights and accesories all over, simply put, form over function, it sucks. Do we really want imports to be about how bright they are? Instead, imports can be about marvelous engineering, about how you can so much power out of a four banger, or my favorite, "you don't need a V8 to be fast." Sure, I drive a Civic, but why the hell wouldn't I think I could compete with a Mustang or Camaro? Instead of spending 40 bucks on strobees, I can think of other ways to make my car a much better car... Looks will come and go, but the feeling of going fast will conquer Just my 2 cents...

There are plenty of civics and integras running around here that can handle such a task - they spent their money on performance parts, and not lights, 19" rims, body kits, and whatnot
