Air condition electrical problem?
I'm a new DIY trying to solve a A/C problem. The A/C just stopped functioning (no cold air) so I thought it was a freon leak. I took it to the mechanic to get the system recharged and he said there's Plenty of freon and he thinks it's an electrical problem. When I turn on the A/C switch, the idle doesn't change....so, where in the electrical system can the problem be stemming from? I checked the fuse - it's fine. Any ideas?
Thanks, from a newbie.

first thing to check is:
+12V at the compressor clutch. If there is +12 there then you might want to look into replacing the clutch, if not check the relay for A/C and make sure that it is working.
If it is working check the output from the computer. If you get +12 there, then you need to check the wiring.
Some other things
If your low pressure switch is faulty, then most likely your system will cycle. If your high pressure switch is bad that could cause the AC not to engage as it thinks the pressure is too high.
