Default need advice

I'm looking to buy a used Type-R and i found one. The guy left this as what he has done to the engine.

Motor has a worked head(ported and polished) with cams, springs and retainers, raised compression ratio, light weight flywheel, brand new clutch, ETC. Suspension is H&R fully adjustible coilovers so car can be raised or lowered 4" and still retain a smooth ride.

Is this a good thing? Will i have problems? Can i get all these things back so the engine is like stock? Basically, whats going on?

Thanks

Ha!

Stock type R heads aren't terribly cheap, and you can't un-port a head. You may find someone that wants to trade with you.

You can find stock cams, valvesprings, etc.

Depending on how he raised the compression ratio (Pistons?) that would be another expense to undo.

Flywheel and clutch are easy to undo, again not cheap, labor is expensive if you don't do it yourself.

Suspension is easy to undo, you just have to find the stock parts again, you should be able to do that yourself.

Do you REALLY want to bring it back to stock?

Good luck.

Please see if you can find out more about who did the work on the head, what springs and retainers were used, what cams he used, and how it was tuned, by whom and when.

I'm guessing the compression was raised with a slight milling of the head, since he was doing head work anyway. You want to know who did the head work, because that makes all the difference in the world.

If the guy put $$ into it, let's hope so.

BTW, vtech = a telephone.

You tell us. It could be a lot stronger of a motor, it could be a time bomb.
