The clutch is a normal-wear part, like brake pads. That is to say that with normal operation, it will become worn. People wear out clutches more quickly by driving poorly. Riding the clutch (keeping the pedal partially depressed) and engaging/disengaging too slowly are the two ways that people normally wear out a clutch quickly.

i did this in my old 1984 mazda 626, i always wondered how hard it would be to start out in 5th gear(my first stick car), and i had to redline it and let the clutch out so slowly, after that it smelt so bad in the car and outside for days

Your clutch will wear out sooner or later.
The time it takes just depends on how well you drive.

just drive the car normal, drive it so its smooth and not jerky. revmatch also, wit hthe engine reving faster than the speed of hte transmission is turning over, it will wear the clutch out faster

Take two sandpaper and rub against each other. That's how clutch works similarly. The more you rub, the more you wear it out. The more you drive, the more your clutch wears out. The life of the clutch depends on the driver.
