i have a 96 honda accord lx manual which had a 2.2 non vtec in it and the motor blew up so i got a 2.2 vtec for free so i tried to put it in the motor was from a 96 honda accord ex automatic. i also have the wire harness and computer from it also ... i tried everything i can and i tried both wire harness and still nothing please help me out im stupid lol

 

so did u go from a manual to auto? or did you swap the manual tranny onto the new motor?

 

the motor that was in the car was a 2.2 non vtec manual. i put a 2.2 vtec from an automatic in now ... and kept the manual tranny from the car. all i did was replace the motor in the car to a 2.2 vtec. it was out of a automatic.

 

My guess is the ECU you have being from an Automatic is not going to work. you need to swap ECU's with a Manual Vtec ECU.

 

and make sure the vtec manual ecu is a obd-2, if not you have to get a conversion harness

 

do you know were i can get one? is that all i need? the crank sensor on the 2.2 is behing the harmonic bala and on the vtec its in the distributor dont i need anouther wire harness?
