Default What welder to buy for a good price?

Im newer to the welding scene. I know the basics but want to get into it more heavily to start constructing my own manifolds, Downpipes, etc. What should i look into getting to accomplish this?

Do you have access to 220v or just 110v? There are some good inexpensive MIG welders available for both power sources.

Depending on what he wants to do, 110v probably will not cut it.

Meh. I've welded some pretty beefy stuff with my Clarke MIG130E. Just doesn't do thick aluminum.

yeah i got the clarke 130en and im happy with it. if your pumpin out manifolds though (for your own use and maybe freinds) i would go with 220. clarke 220v 180amp mig units are under 400 WITH a gas flowmeter/regulator from welding depot.com
