Be aware, all carbon fiber hoods are not created equal. Most of the <$400 hoods are a single layer of CF and the rest fiberglass. In addition, these cheap hoods use polyester resin. Epoxy resin is stronger and it doesn't shrink as much as polyester after curing. Real carbon fiber hoods weigh considerably less as well. You get what you pay for.

see if fiber images still carries their carbon kevlar hoods.

if not, the only thing i can think of would be those "colored" carbon fiber hoods.

Nope, I don't sell carbon fiber hoods or even carbon/kevlar hoods. There are very few "good" manufacturers of true carbon/kevlar hoods since the majority of manufacturers use one hybrid layer (carbon/kevlar) and the rest fiberglass and then use the cheap polyester resin. Most of these hoods are for "show" and not for actually reducing much weight-if that's what you wanted it for in the first place. The reason is simple, a real honest CF or CF/K hood would cost double or maybe $700 to $800 or more. Most people probably wouldn't want to spend this much money on just a hood.

Little too serious about your hoods buddy.

I have a homemade CF hood and it works great for me.

true fibreglass hood is also a third the cost of a "carbon fibre" version
