What type needs rebuild (shocks)
i did a little searching but couldn't find anything. i would do more searching but i gotta head to work after this post. so i just wanna know what type of shocks need rebuilding and what doesn't. like is it decided by like the type of monotube/twintube design or what? someone enlighten me please
Shocks that have a problem like wear or damage, etc. need to be rebuilt. Their design as a mono-tube high pressure gas, twin-tube lowe pressure gas or twin-tube hydraulic has absolutely no bearing on a need to be rebuild. Kind of like saying "What engines need rebuilding...4, 6 or 8 cylinder?" The answer is "Engines with a problem requiring a rebuild and that are capable of being rebuilt".

No, there are good and poor examples all designs. The answer is to get the best dampers that you can afford and fit your usage expectations.
