New ride for the family!!!
Well before I get all excited... This is what my MOM just bought. I have a turbo civic (like the rest of the world) but I was pretty excited that my mom got the Honda bug...and went out and got this. We looked long and hard...and finally found a white one!!
2002 w/14k
All I am allowed to do is front and rear lip, exhaust, and 19"s. Not bad for a women in her 60's!!
Any info would be great as to what to purchase for this beauty!!

I guess it depends on the wheels. I like the bigger look on the ones I have seen, but 18's would be fine. I like these....

She is a cool lady. She loves my civic! She has always been a vette woman...but once she drove one of these...she fell for it.
Who knows.. I would like some 18's prolly.... who knows!

I have those rims.
The offset in 18 isnt to great. If your putting rims on the car, you should lower it to. it looks bad otherwise. Kind of like an offroad vehicle.

when comparing them to 19's they are.... but your never right on this forum.... so now I know why I dont post much. Anywa... love the car, and she does too!! Fun times!
You can be right...if you take other's opinions on here as being the bottom line then join the heard, baaaaa...if you want 19's go with 19's, if you want to put a huge wing, vinyl stickers and a nice pink paint job, i dont care really, its your car. I was just pointing out that as far as practicality goes, 18's are not really a good outlet...tires are expensive, the car will look funny unless you lower it (which in itself requires a good bit of money)...then theres camber issues and tire wear you have to contend with on such a large wheel...of course the attraction of attention to them by thieves, the possibility of aftermarket coverage on them through your insurance so that if that DOES happen your not left with an S2000 and no wheels.
Practicality basically means efficient depending on how you look at it, and to be honest, 18's are purely a cosmetic improvement, which then takes something like the stock wheels, which are engineered and tested by honda to be optimal and "practical" and replaces them with something that cosmetically looks nice, but by all meanings of practicality, is not.
The thing i think your getting lost in is opinion...if you like 18" or 19" wheels and feel that you have the money to keep them and the car up, and you prefer the look of them...by all means, go for it. But from a practicality standpoint, they are no such thing.

very good points. I like the looks of the 18's, I guess I never thought in as much depth as you just explained. I just want a different look. I have seen some stock s2000 wheels on ebay, and threw some thought around of getting those and just getting them powder coated. Thanks for the input!!
Which aluminum wing would be practical?

If you like the look of 18's, 19's, 20's, 22's...hell, go with what you like man, you and your mom are the ones that have to drive it, who gives a **** what we think...lol.
Make sure before you slap rims on that car though that you show your mom the replacement cost of tires on a set of rims vs. the replacement cost of tires on the stocke wheels...since most likely, she'll be sporting the cash for the replacements.
I dont care if you like them....but when you first think of things.. (me anyway...) I only think of one side of it. Much smarter to go with 16's or 17's, should look good.

I'm pretty sure your mom has no idea how bad it's going to suck driving on 19's. Search H-T or anywhere on the internet and find some pics of lowered S2K's on 17's. With the right drop and tire size, they will fill the fender well nicely(whick is usually why people want bigger wheels). They are cheaper, more functional, and more practical. Even take a look at a lowered 04-05 S2K on stock 17's. Very clean.

lol...nothing like that, but an older woman that buys an S2000 on purpose, and not just becuase someone told her too...i think thats pretty cool, since alot of people dont even know what the car is (those that arnt familiar with hondas or cars anyways)...ive had so many people ask "What exactly is that?" and after explaining it to them, their shocked...lol. So a 60+ year old woman that WANTED an S2000 and got one is not something you see everyday. Pretty cool if you ask me.
I agree All the way. All the years of my import and all my friends...it must have rubbed off!!
Anyway... off the topic.. where is the best place to get tires?? She needs the bridgestones potenzas (just the rear, cause the front are fine) I checked tire rack...I was just wondering if anyone else knew of better places.
Thanks
