I was driving my car home from work today and all of a sudden when i was taking the corner before my house, the steering got really hard. I had to put both arms to work just to take the corner. It drives straight fine but whenever i have to take a corner it gets really hard to turn.

Also when I am backing up, after turning about 1/2 turn the steering wheel will spin the rest of the way REALLY fast and then is incredibly hard to turn back to straight.

When i turn there is also a really loud popping sound, sounds like the axle is shifting out of place.

Any ideas of what this is?
