omg, get Frame slider ASAP!
N is between 1 and 2, you know you are in 1st gear when the lever can't go down anymore. Lift half way to get into neutral, and green light will light up on your dashboard, the F3 should have it just above the Side Stand yellow light. in letter N
if it's green, it's Neutral.

And remember to put the fuel valve to Off when you park, and put it in gear
Let's not forget to use choke when the engine is cold...etc

about riding....there is only one thing you must learn
The bike goes where you look.
You look striaght, bike will go straight.
you look at the end of teh curve, the bike will complete that turn. You look only to the middle of the turn, you will be outside of that curve.

1. The body kit is off a 96 so either the bike was wrecked and an older body kit was put on or the frame was swapped from a 97 on to this bike or something along those lines. Hopefully the owner notified you of why the body kit was swapped.
(There were 3 color schemes that used the neon yellow f3 emblem. White/purple/neon yellow from a 95 (I have this kit on mine with the 97 white tail section),
black/purple/neon yellow 95,
red/black/neon yellow (I believe 96).
The 97-98 have the pointy tail section.....
2. Yes the red/black/neon yellow color scheme comes stock, however the rims are black stock. Those have been powdercoated neon yellow to match the fairings. The 97 purple/goldish-yellow ones came with yellow rims but they were more of a yellow-orange color.
The footpegs come in aluminum and his are painted.
It will be a good starter bike if you ride within your limits. Have fun, buy some gear and take it easy for a while.
Edit: I just noticed it looks like rash on the stator cover. That could explain why the body kit was swapped out. Layed down on the left side?!

yea the bike was laid down. The guy I bought it from said the previous owner was a beginner and dropped it in a parking lot. Also I was just ridin my bike a second ago and I love the way the twin brothers exhaust sound..!
