I've got a hole in my floorboard?
I pulled the carpet out of my civic to find a hole in my floor. Its on the driverside floor and I don't know how to fix it. I tried sealing it with silicone but it didn't work, I used alot of silicone too. A muffler shop said they can't weld it till I grind all the undercoating down.
any advice on a quick fix?

kinda like the green eclipse from F&F...you squeezing a 100 shot on top of a blah blah blah? Not a bad way to spend 10,000 dollars! haha sorry
the hole is more like a guash. Its real thin but about 3 inches long. Theres a layer of undercoating on top of the floorboard that I think is retaining moisture. I'm thinking of using cement or a bathroom tile sealant. This sucks

Have a body shop shave off the debris from the surface and weld it. Thats what Id do.

Had that problem, but more extreme in my old jeep. You are gonna have too cut out the hole a little bit larger, get all the detriorated metal outta there, most likely have some sound deading stuff you need to pry off also. just around the general area.cut an easy shape, like a rectangle outta the floorboard, probably, about 1/2 inch bigger than the infected area. get you sheet metal cut to about the same size as the cut out area. Get it welded in with a butt weld, harder to weld it like that, but it prevents any uncoated areas from occuring that can rust. paint both sides, on the bottom side I highly recomend por-15. I wouldn't do the whole underside of the car because it would probably weigh alot but the stuff is great. We coated the frame and entire underside of the body of the jeep in this stuff, it doesn't scratch off, looks great prevents rust holds up to heavy duty rockcrawling.
