Default motor swap on a 90 crx

Ok my freind has a 90 crx and some guy wants to sell him the SOHC 1.6 from a 99 civic ex coupe for 750 installed. How hard is this swap? I dont know a lot about civics/crx but Ive heard bad things about this swap. Any insite would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

That is not a bad price. The swap is sort of difficult from what I hear because of the ob2 electronics.

If it's $750 installed, then why are you worrying how hard the swap would be? WOn't the person that's selling it to you be installing it for that price?

sounds like a nice deal just make sure the motor is legit- dont wanna be cruzin around with a stolen motor. also make sure the guy knows what he is doin, he may think its simple and have no prior experince.

should be allright, he says he has done it before and I know the motors not hot so thats not an issue. I saw a guy with this swap once though, and his car just ran like ****, thats my only fear for my buddy, but so far the positives outweight the potential negatives.

...the way the car runs is really dependent on how the engine's wired...if its wired using the 88-91 electronics, chances are its gonna run like ****. if its wired w/ the electronics that go w/ the engine, chances are its gonna run like its supposed to...
