Default Has anyone done business with CaRzY AsIan? Possible Scammer?

I have been looking for a 98 spec spoon gauge cluster.

He/ she has one for sale in the classifieds, so I contacted to see if we could work out a deal.

Here are the recent excerpts from our conversation:

"(10:05 PM 6/13/2005) Black R: Do you have any references?

(3:11 AM 6/14/2005) CaRzY AsIan: I have a lot people can vouch for me . jsut check under my post.
and 800 shipped will be the best price i can do.
thank you
Alex

(9:01 AM 6/14/2005) Black R: well i am a serious buyer - I do have cash in hand.

(9:45 AM 6/14/2005) Black R: i will take it, but honestly you have low # of posts/ haven't been a member for even one year, and i don't know any of your vouches.

What did you lose % for?

I have lots of vouches and have been a member for 5 years:

https://honda-tech.com/zero...=1789

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=480031

(5:29 PM 6/14/2005) CaRzY AsIan: I post the topic at wrong forum thats why i got the %.

those people can vouch for me.

1 point 6

and...............

(5:30 PM 6/14/2005) CaRzY AsIan: Let me know when you are ready to buy and how you gonna pay I prefer use PAYPAL.
thank you
Alex

(6:07 PM 6/14/2005) Black R: paypal charges 3%

for that reason i prefer not to use it..... MO ok?

(6:43 PM 6/14/2005) CaRzY AsIan: it will charge me not you...... but its really safe for you.
so how you gonna do it??
moneyorder?

(8:12 PM 6/14/2005) Black R: well i'm very serious about this.

if you are willing to send the cluster to me and let me receive it - I will paypal you or send you a MO the same day. Or cashier's check, or whatever you want. Obviously I am concerned about possibly being scammed. I'm sure you have similar concerns.....

(12:26 AM 6/15/2005) CaRzY AsIan: just do paypal then.............after the i recive i will send it right away
thank you
Alex

(3:10 AM 6/15/2005) Black R: where are you located?

i can maybe have a friend of mine near you conduct the transaction on my behalf.....

as it stands, i am unwilling to send the $ until i recieve the cluster - for obvious reasons.

(10:26 AM 6/15/2005) CaRzY AsIan: No deal then................I am try to be nice and you.............. PLZ I never heard someone send the product first and get money later.....thats not how business works out.......... you should know better then that SIR.

PS just **** off if you try to be an ******* like that

(2:14 PM 6/15/2005) Black R: wow, your comments are really uncalled for.

i have conducted transactions like this many times here - with people who are NOOBS such as yourself."

Possible scammer?

I really don't think he's trying to scam you. If I were selling something, I'd want payment first before sending it out. I can see where you're coming from, also, but what you're asking is...well, personally, if I were in that other guy's shoes, I wouldn't do it, either. Just have someone close to that guy go and check it out. If not, paypal has a money back policy, but I've never used it, so don't know how fast/effective they are. And paypal charges the seller, not the buyer.

I wouldn't do business with anyone that has both the word "crazy" and "asian" in their sn.

EDIT: Just read the convo. I won't send it out to anyone either untill I got the payment in full. He just acted stupid when you asked him to send it first.

I wouldn't deal with anybody like that even if they did have the product!

I'd have no problems sending r0cker something without cash in hand. Others, maybe not. However, for something like a cluster, I would consider it for a deposit. Of course, I'd also rather do a face-to-face transaction like Ken offered to do.

That's the part that gave me pause. And his reaction when it became clear that the terms were mutually disagreeable. "Sorry, can't do that" is fine. "**** off, SIR" is a bit much.

I already offered to do that - have my buddy near him/her go take the $ and check it out/ do the transaction for me. The assclown didn't even respond or acknowledge that I offered such. I asked for location, and got no response on that either.

He/ she acted like an assclown. I had already asked for location so I could have a buddy come and conduct the transaction on my behalf.

You guys are right. I don't want to deal with a gay assed '05 member who can't even comprehend grammar nor conduct business as an adult.

+1 for possible scammer.

That's the thing that really made me think scammer:

They usually don't have longevity on the site, they have most of their posts in the classifieds/ fs forum, and they get all mad if you question them - as if to scare you into thinking your doubts were unfounded.
Then you send your $ and they disappear.....

I have sold thousands of dollars of stuff on here. I would never send a product without receiving cash.

But then again I would be willing to meet a third party if they had the money. So I understand why he wouldnt do the first part but not eh second. By the way I have a brand new one if u want it.

lol I can understand the guy's apprehension, and I can understand your doubts. I'd say screw it and go to ebay and be patient Or e-mail one of the known and reputable JDM suppliers on ebay like japandy or "the_take_shop".. But then I always see mentions to H-T sponsors too....so its not like you don't have a wealth of resources here where you can at least find what you're looking for Good luck!

With big ticket items it understandable to be an *** to one point or another. When dealing with expensive items I usually ask for a phone number so that the buyer/seller and I can work out everything at one time without any misunderstandings.

i dont think he's trying to scam u, and if i were in his shoes id do the same thing. i wouldnt feel secure sending out my $800 cluster without having cash in hand, i dont give a **** how many posts/years u have on here.

no offense, but i woulda told u to **** off too, if u kept insisting that i send out something w/o any cash.

i can understand not sending the cluster out with cash but the swearing was uncalled for. he could have jus told u sorry sir i will only do the transaction with money in my hand due to the fact i am scared of getting scammed.

maybe you guys could have done something like send 400 then he sends cluster. after u recieve it send the other 400. i donno

ok, on one hand I can see why he'd disagree to send the product before payment.

What bothers me is that he is rude and seemingly unwilling to make the transaction in person. If he is unwilling to disclose his location, that is just shady.

perhaps you should save yourself the grief and look to a reputable seller:

It looks like he's posting from Chandler, Arizona. Is that where he said he was?

I don't know what to think of that conversation. I think you might just be dealing with a young person who has already been taken advantage of a few times, and your request to send an expensive part first just hit him the wrong way.

Anyone else read this and think "Neverland Ranch"?

Anyhow- I'd give the dude a break, I don't think Ken's request for sending the product first was terribly reasonable, although the guy's response was out of line to having a local intermediary handle the transaction.

*shrug*

if u really want the cluster have your friend pretending he is interested in buying it and he will pick it himself.
