Default 97 Honda Accord Special Edition

Hey I have an anti theft on my Honda, and yesterday I set off the alarm on accident and I did not have the keyless to turn it off. Some how I got it to turned off and had to bring back my wife to unlock it with the keyless.

Now for some reason I cannot get the gear shift release to work. You know how you depress the brake and it releases the stick to shift down into drive! It just stays in gear and will not let me shift into drive. I have a keyhole next to my gear shifter and I can't even insert my honda key in there. Any ideas on how I resolve this one?

i have the same car, and when i got it the people that sold it to me dident give me the the remote control that comes with the car, so the only way you can turn it on and off is by the key. just turn off the alarm by the key hole on the door by unlocking it and that should also take of the transmission lock.

Thats pretty sick, i never knew that the factory alarm allowed the transmission to lock up and the shift lock device.

Hey I am not sure exactly what you mean? Does the alarm have to be going? Thanks for your help.
