How to distinguish DC knuckles from DA knuckles?
I previously purchased what i ASSUMED to be DA knuckles. I assumed this because i drive an EH2 hatch, and as far as i know, DC knuckles are supposed to bolt on without a problem.
The knuckles i had before left my car unable to be driven at all.
Anyway, i purchased yet another set of front "DC" knuckles. The problem is, i'm not sure if they really are DA, or DC front knuckles. I really don't want to waste another day taking off my front suspension and putting these on if they're the wrong knuckles again.
My quesiton is: How can one distinguish the DC knuckles from DA knuckles? I've searched forever now; is there a part number on the side? Some sort of visual difference? Something? HELP!!!! TIA!

they will be almost identical except for the diameter of the hole for the strut. DA struts are thinner than DC struts (I think, may be the other way around) Good luck, compare the two, and if they're different diameter circles, you're golden
I probably made the question a bit confusing. I'm not talking about the fork that the shock sits in, i'm talking about the entire knuckle assemblies. They attatch to the hubs and the upper control arm. I need to know how to distinguish the knuckles (the part that drops drom the upper A arm, to the hub. The tie rod also connects to the knuckle) thanx, though
from what i can tell, it looks like the top of the knuckle is slightly different on a DA. at the top, where the upper ball joint attatches to the knuckle, it looks like the DA knuckle has a small protector that goes around the castle nut. if it's not there, you'll at least see the two holes where it is bolted in. i don't think the DC knuckles have this

The only way I know the difference is the wheel bearing on them. The inner diameter is the same as dc but the outer diameter is different for some odd reason(I believe it was either too small or too big, it's been awhile I forgot). I have DA knuckle on my EJ1 and when I replace the wheel bearings I have to get the DA wheel bearings. because the DC bearings won't fit.

The EG/DC knuckles do not have those 2 screw holes for the top castle nut cover.
I have both sets laying in a pile at the shop, and I know that they have different 3-digit alphanumeric stamps on them. If I remember tomorrow, I'll pull them out and see what they say on each of them.
