Do I need to grease new lower ball joint?
95 Civic Si hatch. Search is down.
I found the answer to my first question: The answer is yes. Take off the boot on the new ball joint, fill with grease and then put the boot back on.
HERE IS MY NEW QUESTION
Noob --> Does the ball joint come out the bottom or top of the spindle?

You should not have to grease the new balljoint.
When you remove the knuckle, spindle, whatever, it will come out from the top. You will hammer/push it out from the bottom, or the side where the threaded portion extends.
Is this for the lower balljoints?

Sorry, yes it is for the lower ball joint.
I realize that the upper ball joint is attached to the A arm and is not replacable by itself.
Thanks, that answered my question. But on Honda-acura.net they say you do need to grease the ball joint. Now I am confused.

When I bought my lower balljoints, they were pre-packed with grease, all I had to do was pop them in.
Good luck with the c-clamp for that goes around the body of the joint. That was a bitch to get on. I ended up removing the boot so that I wouldn't tear it trying to get the clamp on. In a roundabout way, this is how I found out they were packed with grease.
edit: Where are you buying them from?

Autozone, $25 each. They come with the castle nut, cotter pin and snap ring.
EDIT: They ARE filled with grease!! I took the boot off and there it was. The grease in the new boot is white, and the grease in the old boot is dark brown, so I assumed since it didn't squirt out that there was none.
