i had the dealer replace them last year at 32k-ish. nc gets a lot of pollen in the spring and i suspect it overloaded the filters. it started smeeling musty in the car.

i bought the filters at the dealer yesterday for ~$19/ea. i know i overpaid, but it was right next to the mazda dealer and i was there getting parts for the miata.

i picked up some honda manual tranny fluid too. $5/quart. too many trannys i've had went notchy after switching to synthetic.

someone told me to look in the owner's manual.

it was in there.

it IS behind the glovebox. pop out the glove box stops on either side (they are detachable form the glovebox). there's a small black panel that unclips from the blower assy. pull out the first tray (two trays, each one holds a filter). the second one you slide to the left then pull it out.

took me 5 minutes. about 100 degrees in my garage today, sweated my *** off.
