HELP... key gets stuck in ignition
anyone ever have a problem where the keys would not come out of the ignition?
you kinda have to wiggle it until you can turn back to off and pull it out.
the shifter is on park...
If the interlock is going bad or misaligned then it isn't porperly unlocking your key when the car is in Park.
Could be a mechanical failure from wear in the switch.
Do you have spare keys? Try another key, since badly worn keys can jam in switches.

But he has a automatic, so chances are he is haveing problems with that.
After you check your cable, go to honda and have them make a key for you using your vin number. This way you have the perfect match for a key. Sometimes this is peoples igntion problems. It was for me, except mine was you could put the key in the car, but the key wouldn't turn unless you had the wheel locked.

just listen to me and next time it gets stuck, move your steering wheel a slight bit while taking out your key, it shouldnt matter if its automatic, mine does the same thing.

well got new keys and that wasnt the case...
wiggled the steering wheel a bit and keys are still stuck.....
its not the neutral safety switch cuz ive tested it.
Im assuming that it is the ignition in the colum that maybe faulty... any one know how much these things go for?
any other possibilities it could be something else?
what if i sprayed WD40 in the ignition? would that be bad?

try spraying wd-40 in the key slot. I had a case where the key was stuck in the ignition and wouldn't come out. The lubricant in there had dried out and the tumblers wouldn't release the key. wd-40 won't hurt anything in the ignition... give it a try. spray it in there with the long skinny tube they give you and wiggle the key around to loosen things up.
good luck... let me know how it turns out.

Use graphite dust, not WD-40. WD-40 isn't a lubricant, it's a water-displacing chemical (hence the "WD").

What year and model is your car ?
There is a Service bulletin for some ignition switches but : There is a shift lock (not steering) adjustment that I have not messed with yet but I have the same problem with my 97 EX Auto. You can wiggle the wheel all day....it's not the steering lock.
When my key won't come out ( 75% of the time) I just gently bump the shift lever forward....theres' a "Click" sound, then twist the key and out it comes.
