Default d16z6 in a ek? help me out

i kno its probably all out there right now...i tireid searchin for d16z6 in ek but ek is a 2 letter word so it wont be included in the search...i only have access to this motor right now and if i could get a d16y8 i would... has anyone done this yet? i kno u need to re wire the dizzy and keep the injectors..anything else i should be aware of be4 i do this... reason im swappin is because motor i have on the car is giving up already im not going to be runnin vtec for now so yeah..help me out

Not a good idea. I see your in Cali and seeing that the motor is older then the car, that is illegal, and u will not pass emmisions.

whatever. well since your not running vtec then you can just drop the motor in, and you will have to convert to obd1, you need a ecu, jumper harness. and some other things.

cant i just swap the housing of the dizzy's and just keep the y7 injectors and jus run it with the stock ecu no vtec?

no. 1. the dizzy plugs are different. 2. the timings are diff on the z6 compared to the y8. i guess you could swap the IM from the y8 to the z6 and use the same plugs. but you'll get a soild CEL becuase your not getting a signal to a knock sensor and a CYP sensor.

so other than a cel being thrown i should be good right? im doing a 0bd2-obd1 conversion so ill be runnin a obd-1 dizzy and run obd-1 injectors from the z6 and ordering a obd1-obd1 conversion harness

in that case u should be good, im assuming ur going to use the p28 ecu?
