hid retro fit question with casper sheilds

sup guys, i bought a hid kit for an ek using h4 bulbs.

i also paid for the casper sheilds.

are they suppose to face down? or up? as in, the open side facing down? or up?

If you have you bulb upright, the shield is suppose to be below the bulb. So the open side up.^
