Bogging at around 4-5000 RPM already brought up but not the solution
Hey guys this was brought up today tha i saw and someone said that if the cat breaks the inside it causes it to not get all the exhaust to go through, i did no belive it one bit and my cat is brandnew so i know it is not it.The only thins i can think of is my DP on my header has dents on both side of the pipe which i am thinking is causeing it to bog.It all started when i installed Ractive plug wires which were replced with OBX 10.3mm, anyway i also had a cam gear install as well and that is when it started really bad.Im thinking that it is bogging cause the DP on my header is dented on both side, what do you guys think.? Thanks alot guys for the responses.
I'm the "someone" you don't believe "one bit" about catalytic converter failures and I'm truely sorry to hear that you're quick to dismiss advice from a mechanic of 24 years. Son, let me just say that i've changed out more bad "cats' during my tenure than the years you've been alive.
I trained during the time of power valves, mechanical distributors and the only OHC was a Jaguar. The only Sun test equipment were battery and alternator testers, and the thought of a computer in a car was laughable let alone OBD-2.
Dismiss my prior post if you wish, they were SUGGESTIONS.
But understand this, any mechanic worth his weight (and is honest) will tell you he can not diagnose a problem over the phone, let alone in a discussion group. He has to physically check the vehicle to be accurate.
Answers you recieve in these forums are from well intentioned people who either respond because of a similar failure, or have some mechanical background.
I post only what I know to be true, and I only post to subjects I know.

A quick and easy way to check for an exhaust restriction (including clogged converters) is the touch test. When an exhaust system has a restriction it will cause heat build up. Warm the car up to the point where the problem occurs and quickly tap your hand along the exhaust system (quickly, it is pretty hot). If there is a blockage you will notice one particular spot extremely hotter and after the spot it will be cooler.
