Default difference between s1 and y1 trans

Got 90 hatch dx with a jdm b16a swap. Had a y1 trans in it and it got stuck in 5th, replaced with an s1 b16 trans. put the starter on it and went to crank it and the starter just turned over. It isnt making contact with the flywheel.

is there a difference in the starters between these 2 transmissions? thanks

check you starter, it may not be projecting out.. take it out and bench test it.

the tranny should work with that starter.

pulled the starter out of my sol and put it in the hatch and it worked fine.

There is no visible difference between the 2, wtf? and the starter from the hatch did the same thing on my sol...
