So i have this 1990 civic 4 door LX. it has been giving me trouble for a while now. seems it only wants to run when it wants to. It throws a CEL 16 and I can figure out where to trouble shoot. I looked around and found that some people say the Main relay sometimes causes this but im not 100% sure on that. another thing is that i replaced the injectors with some i found at the yard and it started right up. however its not wanting to fire up again. it seems as if the injectors arent opening or something. like the power to them is not there or something.

If anyone has had this problem please let me know what to look for as i need to get it running ASAP.
Its got a d15b2 stock engine with no mods. its bone stock.

I had a code 16 for a while, but I think it went away after one day I got fed up and changed the main relay (it wouldn't start right after being shut off).

 

so your telling me that the main realy usually causes this? hmm, ill look inot it. hava any idea what it costs? BTW thanks for the images. I already printed them out. hope thte main relay fixes it. BTW is it locate near the driver side under the dash????

 

I always had the main relay issue but randomly for no reasons what so ever the injector code would go off leaving me "WTF Mate?" and then would go away with no input from me. Then after changing the main relay, never saw it again but I never did pay much attention to it to begin with. The Relay was 60$+ from my local dealer, I could have saved I am sure if I had gone through either http://www.slhonda.com or Majestic. It is under the dash on the drivers side wall.

 

thanks alot for your input. i think ill go and buy one at the local dealerahip. is this comon with all DPFI engines? or is it cause the car is so damm old?
