Default G2 DA transmission question

hey im buying a used G2 with 150k on the chassis/engine so it comes with the stock b18a engine with the ys1 tranny ...now before i buy this sucker for 800 bucks there's one major mechanical problem i can see ...and that's with the shifter

the shifter will put the transmission into gear but it wont stay in the gate like its supposed to...once it shifts into the gear itll come back out into the neutral position and itll wobble as if its in the neutral position but not with so much freedom...

i asked a couple people that i know in person and they never seent hat happen...a couple suggested a whole transmission swap ..but im on a tight budget and was hoping this wasnt a big problem..and if it is itll give me a chance to knock the price down even lower...

o btw the car drives perfectly fine and there's no problem going from gear to gear...it just doesnt want to stay in the gate

also the owner did say that the clutch was on its way out ..so i dunno if that's related in any way...ty for any replies and what not!

Some one correct me if Im worng, but I think that the YS1 trannys or any tranny from the G2 Integras usually wobbles side ways, I dont know why, I think its because the gears are shorter then the new Hydro (S80). As long as it doesnt pop back to neutural, you should be fine.

Ive driven a few DA and own one my self, and both the GSR and LS specials have the same problem.

Replace the shifter bushings... should be as simple as that. While you're at it get a B&M Short Throw

The 90-93 Teggys shifters do wobble, its not a big deal. I own a 92 GS.
