type s piston clearance

Default type s piston clearance

i'm wondering if anyone who's got type s pistons clayed their motor before assembly. i'm just trying to find out if type s pistons would clear with ferrea stock sized valves and stock h22a4 cams. thanks guys.

If I'm reading this right, it should clear with no problems. It's all stock size.

stock size flat valves?

If they are stock size flat valves I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be a problem anyway, they are still stock size, the only thing that changed is that the valve is flat.

I think what he meant is like stock valves have a lil dome shaped cut on the valve.

It should clear. They are stocked size valves.

I have type S pistons on an h23 with an h22 head, the piston stick out of the deck a little and the dome comes out a lot. I used a thicker cometic head gasket cause I didnt like to see the pistons sticking out of the deck . I have a Pure tunning valve train and stage 3 crower cams. 1200 miles and the car runs fine so far, I was always scared of the same thing, so i got the cometic gasket, but not sure if it's nessesary, I just did it to be safe..

Why were the pistons sticking out of the deck? Did you use H22 rods?

I used h23 crank and h23 rods... i have no Idea why they stuck out, they just did, i haven't asked them yet.
