need info on lauching my lude
Everytime i launch my lude it wheel hop's like crazy any help out there on how to eliminate this problem?? i know strut bars would help but anything else i should get?
What RPM are you trying to launch at? You might want to try launching at a lower RPM.
If you are just poppin the clutch, try feathering it instead.
Do you have this in a civic? Because if you do, you are going to have traction problems no matter what. But you can play around and see what RPM gets you less wheel hop.
To help you put the power to the ground you might want to get a better suspension setup, and some good tires.
Good luck

Suspension is pretty key here. What are you running? What condition are your shocks? When was the last time you replaced your strut bushings/balljoints? What pressure are you running your front tires at?

traction bars are made for that specific purpose. strut bars are more for handling. Traction bars, good shocks in the front, 20-25psi in tires, and slip the clutch a little, and you'll be good. Or just get slicks

I have a 95 lude H22 vtec with just a cold air intake and straight pipe all the way back with 18's and kuhmo 35 tires. I launch it around 4-5K depending on what car im racing
I really dont know how much power im pushing can someone give me a ballpark figure?? Ive beaten Rsx type S with no problems and hatchback's with GSR's and LS-VTEC are no problem either.

why would you launch at different rpms depending on what car your racing?
A perfect launch doesnt depend on those factors.
And 18's are overly large tires/rims if your trying to race a 4th gen lude.

I agree with the 18's comment, but in order to get your 'perfect launch', you definitely do have to launch differently in different cars.

if its in a civic, then its believable, in a lude, its really not.

The way you talk, it doesn't sound like you should be racing cars which I can almost guarantee was not at a track. If it was, post your time slip and it'll definitly help with an estimate of whp.
Just a guess though, factory rated at 200ish, 15% loss through drive train is 170. Intake and exhaust may give around 10-15 whp total. Somewhere around 185 sounds about right.

You don't know how to launch your car but you still beat Type S's, GSR's, hatch swaped GSR's? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

yeah depends on suspension, tires, buncha stuff. one persons launch rpm will be different unless you have all the same components. as for eliminating wheel hop try windo welding your motor mounts. stock ones blow. http://www.raktron.com/misc/mt.htm otherwise if youve got the money just buy some polyureathane ones.
When I bought my car it had 18s on it with 215/35/18 kumhos and i had nothing but wheel hop all day. I got rid of the 18s and put some 16 inch Enkei RP02s on with 205/45/16 Nitto 555s and i never have wheel hop. So basically, ditch the 18s because they suck. I also have ES motor mount inserts and that helps a lot.

I have an lsd, and on street tires i'll get wheel hop in 2nd if I shift hard. i can't imagine trying to launch without lsd, but its still not enough on its own.

Pretty easy dude, if money is not an issue.
Get a nice Tein supension, urethene motor mount inserts, good tires and a LSD; then you'll be on your way with a nice little setup.
